Koala at South Australia, Adelaide – Cleland Conservation and Wildlife Park

Cleland Conservation and Wildlife Park is located in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, 12km away from Adelaide City.
- Established since 1945
- You can have a close view and interact with Australian animals such as kangaroos, koalas, emus, and see wombats, dingos, Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby, Bush Stone-curlew and Brush-tailed Bettong and etc.
- Open from 9:30am – 5:00 pm (last entry before 4:30pm).
- Admission fee range from AUD14 – AUD28 (concessions apply)
- Koala is not a bear, therefore it shouldn’t be call “Koala Bear”, just simply “Koala”.
- You can’t find Koala in Western Australia and Tasmania.
- Female Koala has a pouch on her belly (young Koala called “joey” will stay inside the pouch for 6-12 months and feed on milk)
- Koala feed on eucalypt (eucalyptus) leaves most of the time, average 500g per day.
- Koala has a low metabolic rate, can sleep or rests motionless for 16-18 hours every day.
- Do not disturb a Koala, when disturbed they may turn violent, its strong and sharp claw may cause injury to you. Fair enough, who would like to be disturb while they are sleeping ? Common sense prevail
